Playing Catch Up

I know I am SO behind on updating this blog, but I finally have time to sit down and put this together.

Last week I wore this adorable skirt from Macy’s paired with a shirt from Forever 21, heels from Aldo, and my favorite Kate Spade cross body bag. My elephant necklace is also from Forever 21, and the tassel wand is from Studio Mucci; I totally felt like a fairy princess!

This look would be perfect for a fancy dinner out with the boyfriend (hint, hint, wink, wink).

I also wore one of my favorite summer rompers from Lilly Pulitzer! It is so bright and colorful and it just puts me in a good mood.

I paired it with my new Kate Spade bangle and Jack Rogers, but I have also worn this with wedges to make it dressier.

What are your favorite summer looks?

Make a Statement

I don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry so if there’s one thing I love it’s a statement piece. One really great looking piece is, in my opinion, much more elegant and eye-catching than loading on a ton of bling.

I had been looking at a particular necklace from BaubleBar for-EVER, but I wasn’t sure if it was worth it’s original price. I found it the other day for only $17 so I had to get it! Unfortunately since it was on sale, it is no longer on the website but you can find similar necklaces at other stores.

This was my first Bauble Bar purchase (even though I’ve wanted everything on the site for a while!) so they sent my bauble in really cute packaging with a handwritten note!

They even included a free gift, Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Polish in Dive In.

I paired this necklace with a neutral outfit so it wouldn’t be overwhelming.

What I’m Wearing

Shirt: Target

Shorts: Abercrombie & Fitch

Necklace: Bauble Bar

Bracelet: Kate Spade (Similar)

Espadrilles: Etienne Aigner (Similar)

I also love statement earrings! Most of the time I just wear them on their own, especially if they are as big as the ones I received as a free gift from Lilly Pulitzer.

I haven’t worn these out yet because they are definitely a statement, and they’re a little heavy so I wouldn’t want to wear them for too long. Hopefully my boyfriend will take me to a nice dinner soon πŸ™‚

Earrings: Lilly Pulitzer Free Mystery Gift

Lipstick: NYC Expert Last (Forever Fuchsia)

Sorry for all the selfies, the worst part of being a fashion blogger is when no one is around to take your picture!

A Day of Adventures

Yesterday was full of fun! My boyfriend and I visited the Great Swamp Greenhouses. We got a little lost on the way there, and ended up on a gravel road to nowhere. A very helpful park ranger pointed us in the right direction and we eventually found the greenhouse to accomplish our mission: getting cacti!

I picked one with pink flowers (I named her Iggy)

And my boyfriend picked the tiniest one possible

He just got a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy s5, and he is obsessed with its awesome camera, so he took a couple shots of me being silly in the greenhouse

What I’m Wearing

Sunglasses: C. Wonder

Necklace: KK’s

Dress: American Eagle Outfitters

Shoes: Jack Rogers

Bag: C. Wonder (similar)

Hopefully we will be able to take care of our cacti properly. They need lots of sun and water about once a week. I wasn’t home today to see if the flowers on mine reopened, because during the night they close to save energy. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if they do!

Later we decided to go mini golfing with my little sister at The Golf Zone. Even though I lost (I had an early lead though!) it was a lot of fun.
