Last weekend the boyfriend took me to DC and Annapolis for a weekend getaway!
I’ll share our vacation in another post, but I wanted to provide some packing tips for a small trip!
Pack light! I know this is obvious, but it can be really difficult to only bring what you really need. One way I avoid over packing is by packing outfits that I know I will wear, rather than individual pieces.
Dresses are your best friend. They are easy to fold into a small suitcase and are a whole outfit in one piece!
Pick your three favorite shoes and wear one. Shoes are my downfall because I always want a variety of shoes for all the places I might be going. I will admit I brought way too many shoes for this trip, but I wore my Kate Spade Keds, and brought my Jack Rogers, and two (yikes) pairs of wedges. I have no self control.
Limit the accessories. Bring your favorite necklace and a couple pairs of earrings, and leave the chunky stuff at home. It will save you space and make your suitcase that much lighter.
My favorite thing in this suitcase is the Wear Me/Wash Me bag that I got as a gift with purchase from Lilly Pulitzer. It is perfect for hiding away intimates and bathing suits!
I finally got to wear my graduation dress again for a fancy date night with the boyfriend. This Lilly Pulitzer First Impressions shift dress is so comfortable and transitioned from meeting an event planner, to class, to a fancy restaurant, to ice cream, so easily and I got compliments every step of the way!
During the day I paired it with my pink Jack Rogers, but for date night I threw on my favorite Jack Rogers wedges. And of course I had my favorite Ted Baker London bag with me.
Polar Cub ice cream was the Sweetest way to end a date with the Sweetest guy!
Jack and I recently visited Baker’s Treat in Flemington, a cafe that also donates to charity! His former manager at Starbucks actually did the artwork on the outside of the building, and the whole place is just super cute and fun.
I wore this engineered Lilly Pulitzer tube top with white jeans and my pink Jack Rogers. My favorite accessory though? This adorable cupcake!
I know I’m late to the game, but I recently purchased my first ever pair of high waisted shorts from Garage! My artsy sister definitely approved, but also laughed at me when I paired them with this neon Lilly Pulitzer tank. Even though I’m a prep at heart, I gotta stay current with the hip trends… ok I’m not even fooling myself!
I still think I look pretty cool 🙂
(Side note, totally burned my elbow on the hot deck… whoops)
I know I am SO behind on updating this blog, but I finally have time to sit down and put this together.
Last week I wore this adorable skirt from Macy’s paired with a shirt from Forever 21, heels from Aldo, and my favorite Kate Spade cross body bag. My elephant necklace is also from Forever 21, and the tassel wand is from Studio Mucci; I totally felt like a fairy princess!
This look would be perfect for a fancy dinner out with the boyfriend (hint, hint, wink, wink).
I also wore one of my favorite summer rompers from Lilly Pulitzer! It is so bright and colorful and it just puts me in a good mood.
I paired it with my new Kate Spade bangle and Jack Rogers, but I have also worn this with wedges to make it dressier.
I cannot believe that this happened. Even though I am starting my Event Planning Certification and have a lot to look forward to, I will definitely miss the place that has become another home to me. What made all of this even more special is that my little came home early from Scotland where she was studying abroad to surprise me!! I had no idea it was happening, and actually started crying when I opened the door of my apartment and saw her.
And then I made her take my graduation pictures because my roommates were taking too long.
