Event Planning Update

I have been having a blast interning at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge! Everyone is so friendly and the weddings are really creative. I thought I would share some pictures of what I’ve been helping to set up!

This bride was obsessed with purple! She even had it in her hair and on her dress. For this wedding, I set up my first escort card table; it is a lot harder than you would think to correctly line up all the cards, but my Maitre D’ thought I did a good job.

I also got to create the chalkboard sign for the card table! I even added a little purple to my “fauxligraphy” so hopefully the bride liked it.

The wedding after that was crazily detailed! I spent most of the time working with the admin trying to figure out the right amount of water to put in a fountain so that it would start flowing as soon as the bride and groom poured in the water for their unity ceremony! It was very complicated and eventually we rigged it so that the officiant could step on the button to the power strip.

These escort cards were made by the bride, and they were a very unique touch to this one of a kind wedding!

Wedding Fest!

The Bridal Show was a huge success and I feel like I have learned so much during this internship. Here’s more of the paper flowers and the tassel garland that I made! Check out my video for simple instructions on how to make your own. (Sorry it’s so awkward, it was for my public speaking class!)

And here’s the video!

Fourth of July

Last weekend was so much fun! I went to a barbecue at Jack’s house and we made red white and blue margarita’s for his family.

While our margaritas did not quite look like the pinterest picture, they were still delicious and we got a lot of compliments. I think we may not have used enough fruit… the recipe was a little confusing, or maybe we just used too much ice… regardless check it out!

I got the straws from the dollar section at Target!

We wore the super cute Shop Bracket headbands that I posted about earlier, and I wore a top I got on sale from Anne Taylor with white lace shorts that I’ve actually had since early high school… (from abercrombie how embarrassing)

How did you celebrate the Fourth?

Fourth of July Planning

I am so pumped for the Fourth! Jack and I will be making tri-colored margaritas for his family, and I got some amazing headbands from Shop Bracket!

These are just three of the five designs that came in the pack!

Here’s a subtle red, white, and blue outfit if you don’t feel like going all out. I’ll be keeping my actual outfit a surprise until the day of!

I’m wearing a sheer lace top from the Limited, jean shorts from Pac Sun, J. Crew earrings, Jack Rogers Wedges, and NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella

The boyfriend was not happy about having glitter blown at him, but he managed to pull through.

I also did some experimenting for my holiday mani!

From pinky to thumb, the colors are Essie Butler Please, Julep Ivy, Essie Double Breasted Jacket, Essie Butler Please with Summit of Style, and Essie Double Breasted Jacket. I started and finished with the all in one base and top coat from Essie.

What are your plans for the 4th?

Bridal Shower

In the midst of finals and finishing my thesis, I helped Jack’s mom with the decorations and games for his sister’s bridal shower!

I made a Miss to Mrs sign out of card stock, and hung it in front of the gifts. I also made big paper pom poms, and three fun games about what is in your purse, bridal superstitions, and who has the groom? where whoever has a picture of the groom in their envelope wins!

The groom’s family made the centerpieces, which were also favors for the guests.

My favorite part was the Wedding Advent Calendar I made! for the two weeks before the wedding, Anna will be opening little gifts to get her excited, and also prepared, for the big day! After the wedding I will do another post that lists all of the gifts, but for now here is the final product:

The bags are from Target, and the foam board and ribbon are from Michael’s!

Valentine’s Day: Ready to Fla-mingle

Valentine’s Day is less than a month away, so I put together a sweet treat party inspiration featuring table wear from Target.

The Pink Metal Tray, Floral Plates, Striped Napkins, and Glitter Champagne Flutes are all from Target! Everything was so colorful and fun, but also not dripping in hearts. They also have other patterns to choose from and many more decoration options! I was unable to find these pieces at target.com, but they should be with the other party supplies in your local store!

I had previously bought the paper straws and the flamingo stirrers. Drink accessories are always a great thing to have on hand. The tassel garland is also from Target’s regular party line, and I had it hanging in my dorm room. The hearts are foam stickers, and I also tried my hand at some floral arranging!

I hope this inspires your next V-day event! Whether it’s a girls night in or a flirty date, it’s sure to be sweet!
