Amuse Bouche by Bite Beauty

I recently received a trio of Amuse Bouche lipsticks from Bite Beauty courtesy of Influenster. I have gotten a lot of vox boxes since I started my first blog about four years ago, and besides the Victorias Secret Sport box, I think this was one of my favorites.

For starters, these colors are SPECTACULAR.

Just. Look. At. Them. From left to right they are Beetroot, Pepper, and Gazpacho.

The lipsticks themselves smell very citrusy, have a great texture, and are made with food grade ingredients. They are even gluten-free!

Even though it took a little practice to get such a rich color on my pale, pale skin, Beetroot is definitely my favorite (see above). I paired it with some high waisted black jeans from Garage and this sparkly J Crew tee for a tapas date night. This little black bag was a darling addition (even though my phone doesn’t fit in it!).

I love Pepper (above) as well because it is perfect for a casual day of shopping and is also totally office appropriate!

Definitely a 5 out of 5 on this one. Way to go Bite Beauty!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Winter Whites

With the first week of January done and my last semester just around the corner, I thought I’d do a post on some ways to add white to your winter!

I’m wearing a cut out turtle neck from Kerisma, with a white camisole and a Kate Spade necklace. Despite all of the cut outs this sweater kept me warm today with a real feel of 12 degrees!

Another wintery white way to keep warm is with a cute pair of gloves! I got mine from Ann Taylor LOFT.

If you’re trying to keep your hands safe this winter try Burt’s Bees Almond & Milk Hand Cream. I have tried other Burt’s Bees products before but this one was new for me. It is very thick and you can feel it soaking into your skin to make it luscious! Since it is thicker though, it leaves my hands a little sticky, so this might be better for before bed!

I hope you’re dreaming of a white January now!

New Scent Guide

I love finding new perfumes. I have my go to scents, but every once in a while I like to have something to spice up my day, and that’s where Sephora comes in. They always send great samples of different fragrances to try.

I tested some out and here is my New Scent Guide:

BVLGARI Omnia Indian Garnet

My Initial Reaction: Floral, Smooth

This perfume lasts all day, but is very subtle. Perfect for when you want to feel good and not overwhelm the people around you!

Notes of: Mandarin, Saffron, Indian Tuberose, Osmanthus, Indian Woods, Amber

Described as: Mysterious

TOCCA Colette

My Initial Reaction: Sweet and Spicy

This was a subtle scent that I caught a hint of whenever I brushed my hair out of my face. By the end of the day it had lost some of its spice, but remained nice smelling!

Notes of: Bergamot, Mandarin, Lemon, Juniper Berry, Pink Peppercorn, Jasmine, Violet, Cyclamen, Pine Needles, Incense, Musk, Sandalwood, Amber, Vanilla, Cedarwood

Described as: Seductive

Diane Von Furstenberg Diane

s1375229-main-heroMy Initial Reaction: Very Floral

This is a very strong floral scent, something I am not drawn to, but if you enjoy something more powerful try it out!

Notes of: Frangipani Blossom, Violet, Patchouli, Myrrh, Musk

Described as: Powerful

Coach Poppy

My Initial Reaction: Lightly Sweet

This perfume is lovely and light, but you do need to reapply. Perfect for a date!

Notes of: Cucumber Flower Petals, Mandarin, Baby Freesia Buds, Jasmine, Pink Water Lily, Southern Gardenia, Rose Petals, Crème Brûlée Accord, Cedarwood, Bleached Sandalwood, Vanilla, Whipped Marshmallow

Described as: Fun

Marc Jacobs Daisy

My initial Reaction: Floral and Sweet

I have always loved Daisy, from the packaging to the scent. It’s perfect when you need just a hint of sweetness.

Notes of: Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods

Described as: Eternal

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

My Initial Reaction: Refreshing, Slightly Floral

This version of Daisy is a little more floral, but still very classic and appealing!

Notes of: Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Musks, Cedarwood, Plum

Described as: Exhilarating

Versace Bright Crystal

My Initial Reaction: Lightly Floral

This perfume is a classic light floral scent. It does need to be reapplied because of the delicate smell.

Notes of: Iced Accord, Yuzu, Pomegranate, Peony, Magnolia, Lotus Flower, Acajou, Vegetal Amber, Musk

Described as: Luminous

Versace Bright Crystal Absolu

s1602127-main-heroMy Initial Reaction: Slightly Stronger floral

Absolu is slightly more floral than the original Bright Crystal. It is by no means powerful like Diane, and has the same classic feel as Bright Crystal.

Notes of: Yuzu, Pomegranate, Raspberry, Peony, Magnolia and Lotus Flowers, Precious Vegetal Amber, Deep Acajou Wood, Musk

Described as: Vibrant

My Summer Scent

Perfume is something that always makes me feel a little more put together. Whether I’m going to a nice dinner with my boyfriend, or just to the store, it fills my surroundings with vibrancy. That’s probably what makes it so darn expensive.

I tend to lean away from heavy floral scents (possibly something to do with my horrid allergies) and gravitate towards anything sweet or fruity.

One of my all time favorite scents, and my typical go to, is Ralph Lauren Big Pony #2. Not only is it sweet with notes of Cranberry and Tonka Mousse, but it also happens to come in a pink bottle with a green pony (my favorites)!

Recently, I decided to spend some of my Sephora VIB points and get the 100 point gift: the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black rollerball.

This is the beginning of a new brand by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, named after their other siblings and uses the idea of two contradictory personalities. Nirvana Black’s counterpart is Nirvana White (which hopefully I will get to try!).

You can definitely smell the notes of violet, sandalwood, and vanilla, but I disagree with Sephora calling it mysterious. To me, there is something familiar about it. Maybe that’s because my little sister always loved vanilla scented beauty products when we were young.

I put this on before going to the store the other day and I felt as if it was whirling around me. But in a good, not overpowering way.

The 100 point gift is little, but it is perfect to tuck in a purse. Plus, with perfume, a little goes a long way.
