I recently received the Airbrush Perfect Legs VoxBox from Influenster with a sunless tanner-like product from Sally Hansen.
To be honest, this was the first Vox Box I received since becoming a part of Influenster about three years ago that I did not like.
Although the product was definitely too dark for my skin tone (since I received the medium) it was still just a strange product. It works like makeup for your legs, but it came off a bit too easily for my liking, and was pretty orange. It also does not gradually tan your legs like other similar products, but just wipes clean. So you go from being, in my case at least, pale to orange to pale again in one go.
This product was really just not for me, and I received similar feedback from other bloggers I talked to who also received this box.
Oh well, hopefully the next one will be better, andI honestly can’t complain after receiving probably a dozen or so great boxes from Influenster.
I received this product complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes.
Last weekend the boyfriend took me to DC and Annapolis for a weekend getaway!
I’ll share our vacation in another post, but I wanted to provide some packing tips for a small trip!
Pack light! I know this is obvious, but it can be really difficult to only bring what you really need. One way I avoid over packing is by packing outfits that I know I will wear, rather than individual pieces.
Dresses are your best friend. They are easy to fold into a small suitcase and are a whole outfit in one piece!
Pick your three favorite shoes and wear one. Shoes are my downfall because I always want a variety of shoes for all the places I might be going. I will admit I brought way too many shoes for this trip, but I wore my Kate Spade Keds, and brought my Jack Rogers, and two (yikes) pairs of wedges. I have no self control.
Limit the accessories. Bring your favorite necklace and a couple pairs of earrings, and leave the chunky stuff at home. It will save you space and make your suitcase that much lighter.
My favorite thing in this suitcase is the Wear Me/Wash Me bag that I got as a gift with purchase from Lilly Pulitzer. It is perfect for hiding away intimates and bathing suits!
I have been having a blast interning at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge! Everyone is so friendly and the weddings are really creative. I thought I would share some pictures of what I’ve been helping to set up!
This bride was obsessed with purple! She even had it in her hair and on her dress. For this wedding, I set up my first escort card table; it is a lot harder than you would think to correctly line up all the cards, but my Maitre D’ thought I did a good job.
I also got to create the chalkboard sign for the card table! I even added a little purple to my “fauxligraphy” so hopefully the bride liked it.
The wedding after that was crazily detailed! I spent most of the time working with the admin trying to figure out the right amount of water to put in a fountain so that it would start flowing as soon as the bride and groom poured in the water for their unity ceremony! It was very complicated and eventually we rigged it so that the officiant could step on the button to the power strip.
These escort cards were made by the bride, and they were a very unique touch to this one of a kind wedding!
This summery recipe from Better Homes and Gardens was really simple to make!
Ingredients: 15 Oreos, crushed; 3 Tbsp melted butter, cooled; 3 cartons of your favorite ice cream, softened; popsicle sticks or spoons; 9×9 baking pan
Line the pan with wax paper (or if you’re lazy like me, buy a disposable pan that doesn’t need to be greased)
Crush the cookies! The best way is to put them in a plastic baggie and roll them over with a rolling pin. Stir together the cookie crumbs and butter, then line the tin with the mixture. Freeze this for ten minutes.
Spread an even layer of your first ice cream over the tin. BHG had specific measurements but they confused me so I just made it up as I went! Freeze for 15 minutes. Repeat for the second layer.
After adding in the final ice cream layer, place your popsicle sticks and spoons evenly throughout the tin. Freeze for about 2 hours, though mine looked much better after freezing over night.
August 3rd was National Watermelon Day, so I celebrated as anyone else might: dressing up in pink and green, holding a giant watermelon balloon (which I had to take to Party City to be inflated, and the guy asked me what time my party was and I was like… ummm there’s no party…) and pretending to eat watermelon. Yikes.
The dress is from Lilly Pulitzer, the bangle watch is from Kate Spade, and this fab balloon is from Studio Mucci!
I seriously don’t want to know what my neighbors think of me and my shenanigans.
After the photoshoot, the bf, mom, and I actually ate the watermelon and grilled up some burgers and dogs.
